Owner/Grower, Circle A Farms
When you’ve got a dream, a little determination and a lot of hard work can go a long way.
After growing up on a farm in Alabama (Roll Tide!) and earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University, Jeff Adams had a prosperous career in construction for the majority of his adult life in Georgia. Although construction is a great place to be for someone who’s quite the handy man, and can fix or build just about anything, Jeff’s real dream was to one day have his very own farm. After being interested in the agricultural world for quite some time and constantly keeping up with publications and farming media in his spare time, he would some learn that hydroponics was in his future. In the late fall of 2011, with the help of his Dad Kyle, Jeff broke ground and constructed the greenhouse which would later become Circle A Farms. His dream materialized, and the “Best Lettuce Ever” began selling in March of 2012. While starting a new business is never “easy street” he is very grateful for the opportunity to grow local lettuce.
Since then, Jeff has led a wonderful local operation that has provided many repeat customers and countless new folks with the most nutritious and delicious lettuce possible. Think of it this way, you and Circle A Farms share the same backyard – you won’t find a more fresh and homegrown taste than our greens.
Sales Coordinator/Asst. Grower/Business Development
Cheryl was born and raised in Michigan and spent memorable family vacations each summer at Callaway Gardens. She discovered a love for the south and realized she hoped one day she could make the south her home, now living here 22+ years. After touring the greenhouse in the 2nd month of operation, she was immediately drawn to the hydroponics process and the prospect of creating a way to deliver the wonderful greens to local families, restaurants and retail locations. With a B.S. in Dietetics & Food Science and extensive sales experience, she knew this would quickly become a local favorite. Cheryl assists the owner & grower in various greenhouse tasks as well as the website and the New “Farm to Porch” Direct Delivery program, launching early 2017. Her favorite part of Circle A Farms is providing a healthy product to promote wellness, the “shop local” concept or simply interacting with the fabulous customers the product attracts.
When not finding something new and innovative to apply to the Circle A Farms greenhouse, she loves to hike, read, spend time with her family, cook (occasionally!) or enjoy time with close friends.
Hannah joined the Circle A Farms team in April 2013, after a friend suggested the opportunity. She was born in Augusta, but spent a majority of her formative years in Forsyth County, and decided to stay in the area post-high school graduation. After working in administrative positions in the corporate world for several years, she really aspired to use her creative gifts and skills in a smaller, more hands-on environment. Her ultimate desires as Greenhouse Manager are to make daily processes and operations as efficient as possible, to create a great local business to support, and to provide customers with the best and most superior hydroponic greens around. Outside of the farm, she can be found exploring North Georgia, taking pictures of just about anything and everything, listening to records and watching films, or writing in a coffee shop. She loves spending quality time with her family and close friends, and also seeks to profoundly make an impact on those around her each and every day.
Delivery Driver and Greenhouse Specialist
Chandler was born and raised in the south and has been a resident of Cumming, GA for over 10 years. He joined the Circle A Team in February of 2016, and serves as one of the primary delivery drivers and our resident greenhouse specialist. Prior to his arrival at the farm, Chandler worked for a local plant nursery, where his interest and ceaseless passion for watching things bloom began to take root. He also has experience with backyard vegetable gardening, which provides him up with some wonderful knowledge of horticulture. His intentions are to maintain a focus on well-being and sustainability inside and outside the greenhouse. His vigor and drive to both learn and to grow exponentially in his career and character have been of great service to the flourishing operation here at Circle A Farms.
Circle A Farms Interns
While having a local food source in an important component of our day-to- day living, investing in our future holds equal importance. We are proud to have part-time students, both in college & high school assisting us with various tasks here at Circle A Farms. Aaron Crumbley & Emma Roberts add much value to our team as well as the overall mission of contributing efforts towards delivering a quality product to the local community. Aaron is studying Agriculture at Lanier Technical College while Emma helps with our seeding and video productions. We are lucky to have them part of our team.
One may set out to start a business to earn a living and hopefully enjoy the ride along the way. Our very first vision was not just to earn a living and enjoy doing it but to greatly improve the quality of available lettuce to our customers and our local families/friends & even restaurants.
We believe that to some degree, most people eat lettuce in some fashion. From salads, to sandwiches to smoothies to entertaining, people love their greens but in reality, they didn’t really love their greens. It’s been our mission to change this. We want you to love your greens.
Here’s our five point goal:
- To improve your access to locally-grown greens
- To eliminate the need for any type of chemical herbicides or pesticides
- Feed our greens properly balanced nutrients, all derived from natural sources
- Keep our prices affordable by offering direct-to-consumer pricing
- Make you LOVE your lettuce!
We are very happy to hear a favorite saying amongst our customers from shopping at our farm, to Farmer’s Markets to our Direct Delivery program:
“This is the BEST Lettuce EVER!”
While we will continue to grow your favorite greens, we will from time-to-time try additional herbs and various micro greens. Keep your eye out for additional greens, tasty recipes using our greens and where to shop & enjoy our greens.
We supply some of the most fabulous restaurants in town. Be sure to check out our Where to Enjoy tab to get more information.
